What Can We Do For You?
Dr. Westbrook and LRFP graduate assistants respond to requests for assistance with cultural conservation efforts initiated by local organizations. These may include media presentations such as documentaries, feature films, or radio shows; event programming for concert series, lecture series, or performances; curriculum development for adult workshops or classroom use; cultural tourism planning; exhibition planning for museums or other public venues; or any number of activities such as festivals, parades, or celebrations.
UNO Students are also welcome to work with us to develop their skills in interviewing techniques, collecting oral histories, and research into Louisiana cultures and communities. This can be done in furtherance of a student's own interests, in connection with a class project, or as part of a community project. Laura Westbrook also teaches courses, available to graduates and undergraduates, that incorporate the concerns and methodologies of cultural anthropology into the neighborhood planning process.
