A Sampling of Laotian Arts and Traditions in Louisiana

The slideshow features Laotian traditions at Wat Thammarattanaran, the Theravadan Buddhist temple in Coteau near New Iberia, Louisiana, in the back of Lanexang Village, in 2007. June 30, 2007 they celebrated the one-year anniversary of building the new temple with the ordination of monks.

Maida Owens is director of the Louisiana Division of the Arts Folklife Program. This slideshow was prepared in 2007 as part of the New Populations Project.
